¡Welcome to Se Llama Peru!
Luis Rodriguez, the visionary chef and proprietor of Se Llama Peru
Has transformed the heart of downtown Provo into a culinary destination that captures the rich flavors and traditions of Peru. Hailing from Peru, Rodriguez’s culinary journey in the United States began nearly 50 years ago. Despite initial setbacks in securing a culinary position without a degree, Rodriguez’s determination led him to earn a culinary arts degree at Utah Valley University.
Se Llama Peru has become a beloved establishment not only for its delectable cuisine but also for the warm and inviting atmosphere curated by Rodriguez. His commitment to customer satisfaction is unwavering, evident in the personalized experiences he crafts for each visitor. Whether it’s the iconic Lomo Saltado, refreshing Ceviche, or the savory Barbecue Chicken, every dish tells a story of Peru’s culinary heritage.
The restaurant’s ambiance is a testament to Rodriguez’s dedication, featuring vibrant murals portraying the landscapes of Peru. Beyond the culinary delights, Se Llama Peru serves as a cultural bridge, bringing the traditions and warmth of Peru to the heart of Utah.
Rodriguez, fueled by his love for the culinary arts and inspired by the positive reception from his loyal customers, contemplates expansion into three additional cities. With an eye on locations like Park City, he envisions sharing the authentic taste of Peru with even more eager palates.
Se Llama Peru is not just a restaurant; it’s an embodiment of Luis Rodriguez’s passion for exquisite cuisine, dedication to customer satisfaction, and a celebration of Peru’s cultural legacy.

Food was very good authentic Peruvian cuisine. Would go again! Seems it may be difficult to find additional help but those they had on a Saturday evening were working very hard and doing a good job. Kudos to the chef!
I had a wonderful experience at this Peruvian restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth and authenticity of Peruvian culture.
Wonderful food and very friendly and considerate service. Ordered Seafood soup, yucca, and plantains. Generous portions. Soup was fantastic.
Everything about this place is good except for the pricing, which in my opinion is a little too high! I had a good experience here. I ordered the ceviche and my boyfriend ordered the parihuela.
